Tim
Bean was appointed to the position of Fire Chief in 2001. Tim had
been Assistant Fire Chief since 1996. Bean grew up in West
Plains and has been with the Fire & Police department since 1984.
His father, Joe Bean, retired as a Fire Fighter having served for 31
years in West Plains. Tim was also a Police Officer for the city
prior to accepting the Assistant Chiefs position.
Tim has obtained several specialized certification through M/U &
Division of Fire Safety. He is Firefighter I&II, Instructor I&II,
Hazards Material Awareness & Operations, Incident Management and
several other specialized certifications. He is a commissioned
Police Officer with the West Plains Police & Howell County Sheriffs
departments.
Tim is also
President of the Howell County Fire Chief's Association, a member of
the South Central Ozark Regional Response Sqad (SCORERS), a member
of the Howell County Chapter of the Red Cross, 2nd Vice President of
the Firefighter Association of Missouri, Director of Region G
Missouri Fire Chiefs, State Mutual Aid Director for Region G,
Coordinator for Region G Homeland Security Response Team, and Board
Member of Missouri Fire Alliance. |
